A recent Stratfor Global Intelligence, revealed that about 44 employees in Taiwan-based Wintek has a lawsuit against your employer about the use of certain poisonous chemicals in the manufacturing process that led to dozens of workers to be hospitalized since August 2009.

Wintek is a supplier of touch panels for the iPhone. According to the report, the chemical in question, n-hexane, is used to clean the screens of the iPhone. It is alleged that Wintek has replaced a more secure product alcohol with n-hexane at the request of Apple since n-hexane has been known to dry faster and thus facilitate "production bottlenecks."

Wintek is also the provider of iphone touchscreens and it is evident that the company uses the same chemical in the production process also iPad. However, the problem may be entitled, as well as the business implications for Apple, which has seen demand rocket iPad in recent times after the extremely successful launch of the device in the U.S.. The iPad is expected to stand in the international sale last week of May.

The recent development has once again raised the issue of labor abuse among workers in emerging economies like China. Apple has been criticized in the past for being indirectly responsible for human rights violations by its suppliers. Stringent requirements of the company to keep their new releases under control.

However, it should be noted that it is a common practice among companies expect their partners will adhere to production deadlines and maintain confidentiality on matters of business. However, the burden is upon the individual vendors to ensure that they do not violate labor laws and human rights in the process of satisfying customers. So it can not be fair to point the finger at Apple for the succession of unpleasant facts.
