Geohot finally released its long awaited tool to jailbreak: the blackra1n. It is compatible with all iPhones (Classic, 3G and 3G) and with all iPods touch (1G, 2G and 3G) with firmware 3.1.2 or lower.

However, there is some information that should be considered before you think about using the blackra1n. These are:

- The tool makes the jailbreak, but not activation. If your iPhone is locked at the factory, do not use blackra1n under any circumstances, otherwise you will turn your machine off. iPhones unlocked from the factory or purchased in Brazil by any operator can do the jailbreak quietly, since the activation is done through iTunes.

- So far only launched a version for Windows blackra1n. There is still no version for Mac

- This tool does not perform the unlock (unlock). So if you use ultrasn0w you should not upgrade to firmware 3.1.2 through iTunes, otherwise you will get your player unsigned. Wait, so now, the Dev-Team must provide a new PwnageTool.

- Remember that the OS 3.1.2 update the baseband to 05:11:07. And yet there is no release for it.

- On the iPod touch 3G, jailbreak is "temporary." If you restart or turn off your iPod, you will lose the jailbreak.

Please reread the above information to avoid future problems. After that, you can follow the tutorial below that teaches step by step how to use blackra1n.

- First of all, download the blackra1n here

- Connect your device to your computer via USB.

- Run the file you downloaded blackra1n.exe. The following window will appear below:

- Click on ra1n make it. At this point your iPhone goes into Recovery Mode (Recovery Mode). A black screen image showing the USB cable and iTunes icon should appear.

- Wait a little until the process finishes. The photo of Geohot will appear on the screen of your device and will appear after your Springboard normally done so, search on your iPhone by blackra1n and open it. Its icon is a black drop, check below:

- You can now choose from Cydia, and Icy Rock to install.

- Okay, after you have installed Cydia, Icy Rock, or you can uninstall blackra1n if you want (only the icon will remove it).

Dev-team Libera ultrasn0w style - Jailbreak 3G

Taking the cue from Purplera1n which was pronounced by little, the Group-Dev team released the Ultrasnow, which makes the jailbreak and unlock the TBM (Unlock) so it is more complete, but so far is only available to developers hackers on duty version test awaiting publication.
